Timmy and Tommy: How to the Patriots plan to use Tim Tebow
Posted on 08:23 by RAJA BABU
Tim Tebow signed, Wes Welker lost, Rob Gronkowski injured again and through this all Tom Brady is still getting older. For twelve seasons now well number twelve has been the rock to which Bill Belicheck has literally built his offences around. Nevertheless, this man who has piloted his team to 5 Super Bowls, (3 of witch were victories) continues to age as he is now pushing 35 years of age. The Brady era is coming to a close and while we all dreaded this day we all knew what Bill Belecheck needed to do in order to replace Brady.
As it is, when surveying the landscape of the current NFL it seems that the there is no way on earth that the Patriots are going to gain a high quality replacement for Brady through the draft meaning that they either have to get really lucky and trade for someone good or have the chips fall as they may and develop someone thus turning them INTO a good QB going forward: that is where the recent addition of Tim Tebow comes in.
Without a doubt Tom Brady is headed to the hall of fame and you know I don't think it would be that hard to build the case that he is the greatest QB in the history of football. Tebow on the other hand is no where near that. The NFL of this day and age is a throwing league with quarterbacks routinely notching upwards of 4,000 passing yards in a single seasons. Tebow on the other hand has just 2,422 through 3 seasons. When you look at the stat sheet this 25 year old native of the Philippines has a lot going against him I mean how could a guy who has never thrown a 200 yard game make it in this modern day NFL? Yet as crazy as it seems Tim Tebow does have one thing working for him. Motivation.
"He is a great player that works hard" Pats coach Bill Belichick said during yesterday's press conference in Foxborough and really from what has been talked about since Tebow came into the NFL 4 years ago, the last two words of that Belichick quote could not be any more true.
Tebow is willing to learn, and from what has been speculated since this acquisition almost 48 hours ago, he will spend the next few seasons as somewhat of a pupal to Tom Brady trying to learn what he can and, if all goes to plan become a contender for the main quarter back role when Brady leaves in a couple years.
Tim Tebow is a guy who will do anything to win, he is devoted, respects his teammates and coaching staff (I mean he survived the Rex Ryan circus last year) and according to his former coaches in Denver is always that guy who is first on the field in the morning and last on the field at night. Tim Tebow is a selfless player. Tim Tebow deserves a chance. Tim Tebow is now a Patriot and as it stands that seems like this team is a pretty good fit for him.
